The Genie In The Bottle

 

It’s a long weekend and my mind naturally drifts towards thoughts of bars, music and drinks (err.. and eventually kebabs.) I also wonder why, if we’re such a rich and advanced society, can’t we make all weekends long and just get rid of Monday altogether. But anyway, this post is about a new gin called Caorunn. It’s premium London-Gin-category limited-edition stuff made by Balmenach Distillery, an old whiskey maker in Scotland. It may be great-tasting or it may be not, but I’ll definitely buy a bottle if I spot it somewhere – and the reason is purely design. Caorunn’s bottle looks amazing, very clean and pure, almost like the top half of a mineral water bottle, and it makes me wonder what the drink is like. Would it be better than my current Bulgarian-rose-smelling favourite Hendricks? The makers of Caorunn have also done a nice website and won an award, so top marks for the product launch. Now it just has to appear on the shelves.
